The priest in the sanctuary instructed Link to find a man named Sahasrahla. Link reached Zelda and escorted her to a sanctuary where she would be safe. He gave Link his sword and shield and told him he was the heir to the Knights of Hyrule. Link then headed to the dungeon in Hyrule Castle and found his uncle dying. As Link awoke, he saw his uncle, armed with a sword and shield, leaving the house. Zelda then contacted Link telepathically to come to Hyrule Castle. But Agahnim used his position to get rid of the King, take control of the knights, and send the six maidens, descendants of the Seven Sages, into the Dark World. He was appointed the position of chief advisor and priest at Hyrule Castle.

Then, the wizard Agahnim appeared and, using magic never seen before, put a stop to the misfortunes.

Many years later, Hyrule was plagued by a sudden series of misfortunes. They succeded and Hyrule went into an era of peace, but that peace was short-lived. The Knights of Hyrule and the Six Sages worked together, even with high losses, to stop Ganon's onslaught. Ganon escaped from the Sacred Realm, and, with his army, attacked Hyrule. Eventually, said people found the Sacred Realm but became pawns of Ganon's army.
